My Poor Astor

No.. not Astor as in the choco snack. Astor is the name of the family's dog. He's practically my nephew :p

He's a brown Dachshund (or as people may recognized as 'sausage dog'). He's been in our family for almost 8 years now. My sis brought him back from US when she graduated.
He's super duper handsome (according to me) and sexy -though we still call him 'dut' once in a while-. So he's basically a super model in our house. We often take pictures of him and it always come out photogenic.

He's always barking when he sees someone he doesn't know or recognize. He even remembers if you were bad to him or not. He will bark when we hit each other playfully (like he's saying: "Don't hit each other. Not good").
He's always waging his tail and running towards me when I got home. We play hide and seek every now and then. It's really fun to see a panic-surprised-mode dog :p

Though this running towards people eventually created an accident just yesterday.

My house's garage door is automatic. We can open&close it using a remote. Problem is, Astor is always waiting just before the door. So once it's open, he can run towards the car.
So, yesterday my mom got home and mistakenly click the remote button twice, which made the door open and then got close again. Just before it's closed, Astor is already half way running outside. So he got wedged in between. Everyone's is surprised because the door is very heavy and as it's an automatic door, the pressure is quite strong. Moreover, Astor is a very small dog.
Though my mom immediately open the door again, but he's still 'crying' and couldn't move his front right leg. My sis was very hysterical when she saw it.

My mom called my dad when he's in the car with me. She, too, sounded very hysterical.  She told him that Astor can't bark anymore.

When I got home, there was no barking and no dog. When I saw him upstairs, he fortunately was walking towards me though hobble and very slow. He looks really pitiful with those big sad eyes. And somehow he looks like a baby that's learning how to walk. My sis said, he could run before and that he was taken to the doctor but just given a painkiller. And also, fortunately he still can bark.

So hopefully, he won't need any operation. Hopefully he can run again soon. Back to the happy dog that he is.

PS: Noted that I use 'he' instead of 'it', it's not a grammar issue, but I just prefer to use it that way because he's not a thing, he's a family member.

PS2: For those who think that we're 'lebai', just think this. If it's your kid, how would you feel? He's just an animal, you said? People has different perspective. I personally think kids are like dogs in so many ways.
